Achilleion Palace

Achilleion is a palace built in Gastouri on the Island of Corfu for the Empress Elisabeth of Austria, also known as Sisi, after a suggestion by the Austrian consul Alexander von Warsberg.

The Palace is located in the mountain village of Gastouri, ten kilometers southwest of Corfu town. The National Road Corfu – Achillei, following a straight route to the area of ​​Ponti, turns left at that point and turns into a serpentine road that ascends between the olive groves, unfolding before the eyes of the visitor the rich vegetation of this beautiful area of ​​the island.
